A Brother-Sister Builder Team
Thomas B. Willson, Jr.,
President
Thomas B. Willson, Jr. grew up in the homebuilding business. Our mother sold real estate in the Raleigh area for over 25 years and worked closely with many of Raleigh’s top builders and developers. At 4 years old, Tommy spent afternoons visiting job sites with Mom. During high school, he worked summers as a general laborer and over the years gained hands-on experience in almost every aspect of the building process, working with plumbers, electricians, framers, bricklayers, and later as a supervisor for a large builder. For 10 years prior to forming Double L Builders, he owned an interior trim company and his exquisite craftsmanship graces many of the area’s most beautiful homes. His creativity, perfectionism and eye for detail are evident throughout all Double L homes.
Tonnya Willson Compigne,
Vice President
Tonnya Willson Compigne uses her business experience and detail-oriented organizational skills to manage things behind the scenes. She enjoys working with and learning from everyone – trade contractors, designers, Realtors®, customers and other builders through her involvement in the Raleigh-Wake County Home Builders Association. Tonnya loves shopping for lights, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, flooring and interior and exterior finishes and is constantly looking for that “something special” to add to Double L homes. She gets much pleasure and satisfaction from her work and it shows.
A Close-Knit Family
Tommy and Tonnya both received their North Carolina General Contractors licenses in June 2002, after studying and then testing together. The Willsons are a very close-knit family and we have support from them all. Our sister, Dawn, works with us doing everything from drywall and trim to landscaping. Our nephew, Brice, lends a hand on weekends. Tonnya’s husband, Gerard, provides photography. Mom and Dad give loads of advice. Even Tommy's 2-year-old son, Jeffrey, spends as much time as he can at the jobsite, preparing to be Double L Builders’ second generation.
As you can see our family is very important to us, so we completely understand where your priorities lie when it comes to choosing a home for your family.
